Osteopathy during & after Pregnancy
Osteopathy During Pregnancy
Pregnancy is a wonderful time for a mother, but also a period of rapid change for her body. When you consult me, I will spend time gathering all the necessary information about the issues that are affecting you & perform an Osteopathic physical assessment.
I will assess to see how your body is adapting to the growing bump.
There is no better example of Osteopathic Principles than in the case of pregnancy –
Osteopathic Principle 1: The Body Is A Unit – your whole body changes during pregnancy to accommodate for the growing baby and uterus in your abdomen..
Osteopathic Principle 2: Structure Governs Function – as your body changes shape and weight tension can build, function can become impaired, strain can occur and pain can develop.
Treatment aims to ease physical tensions & help biomechanical balance to the body so that the body can begin to function better. Pregnancy is a wonderful time of change and my patients report that they find our sessions beneficial.
My approach can include Structural & Cranial treatment. I also offer advice on how to help you to help yourself to be more comfortable between sessions
Osteopathy After Pregnancy
Women can experience problems after the birth. My unique approach to Osteopathy has helped many women ease discomfort and improve function after they have given birth.
I offer a full rehabilitation program to help after birth. If you have had a caesarean section or any surgery then it is best that you are fully healed and have no signs of infection before you begin our sessions.
I look forward to seeing you soon.
